State Council of Educational Research and Training - Ennum Ezhuthum - request to allocate PG teachers to guide the impact assessment - reg.
The closure of schools for a period of 19 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a learning gap among children in primary classes. To address this learning gap effectively, Ennum Ezhuthum Mission, a flagship programme was launched by Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in the academic year 2022-2023 for classes 1-3. The Ennum Ezhuthum Mission has been designed to transform the quality of teaching and learning and the goal of the mission is to ensure that all students by age 8 in Tamil Nadu are able to read with comprehension and possess basic arithmetic skills by the year 2025. This mission has now been extended to classes 4 and 5 across all districts. To understand the effectiveness of the mission, SCERT have selected and trained a team of enumerators to conduct impact assessment to understand the learning levels of students studying in classes 1 to 5 in selected Government and Government-aided schools. The enumerators are split in groups. The impact assessment is to be conducted between 07.09.23 to 15.09.23 across 38 districts in Tamil Nadu.
I am to state that, School Education Department is to depute one Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) per team of enumerators to guide the impact assessment process. The impact assessment will be coordinated by the DIET. The total number of Post Graduate teachers required for the impact assessment per district is annexed. Annexure: Number of PG teachers required
