Industrial and In the reference cited, it has been communicated that National Council of the Science Muscums (Ministry of Culture, Gol) is organizing National Science Seminar-2023 for students of Class VIII to X on 12th October 2023 at National Science Centre, New Delhi. The objectives of conducting the science seminar are as follows: To inculcate a spirit of scientific inquiry and analytical thinking in the minds of young students.

To provide a common platform to the budding scientists for exchanging ideas To nurture a feeling national integration among young talents from every corner of the country.

The guidelines for conducting Seminar at District Level

The topic for the Seminar is 'Millets- A super food or diet fad?

Language for presenting the Seminar is Tamil, English or any recognized Indian language.

Duration of presentation: The participant shall make his/her presentation on the topic for a maximum duration of 6 minutes. This will be followed by a 2 minutes question -answer session with the judges on

the same topic. Each participant will be asked 3 questions by the judges and the participant should answer any two of them within 2 minutes. Supporting visuals such as Posters, charts or computer based static slides (MS-Office 2019 or lower in ppsx, .pptx, .ppt, .pps format) are restricted to 5 nos., altogether. 3D models, animation. pop-ups rollovers,, video & films in any form are not allowed.

Grading mechanism:

1. Science content in presentation - 40 marks

2. Novelty in use of visuals - 15 marks

3. Fluency in speech - 25 marks.

4. Ability to answer questions

a) Written aptitude test: 10 marks

b) Answer to oral questions: 10 marks.

Eligibility students:

Students from class VIII-X. The first prize winner from State Level Seminar will be eligible to participate in National Science Seminar which is to be held at National Science centre, Delhi.

Scholarship(National Level Winner): (Tenable for one year)

Winner: Rs.4000/-p.m. Special Prizes (9): Rs.2000/- per month

Prizes: Books/Science Kits for all participants of National Science Seminar 2023.

In this regard all CEOS are instructed to conduct District Level Science Seminar before 30.09.2023 on the topic 'Millets- A super food or diet fad? For class VIII-X students of all management schools strictly adhering to the above guidelines and forward the details of District Level Winner (first prize winner) in the prescribed format. State Level Science Seminar will be held on 4th October 2023. The Venue and other details regarding State Level Science Seminar will be shared separately.
