Diploma teacher trainees are worried as B.Ed graduates will also be vying for primary school teacher posts as the state government has allowed B.Ed students to write Paper-1 in the TET, the first teacher qualification test from this year. The Government of Tamil Nadu has issued a directive to implement the Teacher Selection Board (TRB) notification issued on March 7, 2022, 2019.
Accordingly, so far, B.Ed graduates have been allowed to write Paper-2 for appointment as Secondary Teachers. Graduates of Diploma Teacher Training are eligible to write TET Paper - I. However, now that B.Ed graduates are also allowed to write the TET exam paper-I, diploma teacher training graduates have to compete with graduate teachers who have completed B.Ed. As a result, diploma teacher training graduates will be affected to the extent that a course of study by both graduates (D.T.Ed and UG with B.Ed) becomes unnecessary.
The Tamil Nadu government has demanded that B.Ed students should not be allowed to write Paper-I in the TET examination.
However, sources in the education department said that the government order did not mention that B.Ed graduates would be recruited if they passed Paper I. The DRP has stated that B.Ed graduates can write Paper I.
Those who have studied B.Ed do not know whether they will get a job if they write Paper I. Many people say that they have a chance to get a job if they pass Paper I and DRP.

அதன்படி, இதுவரை, பி.எட் பட்டதாரிகள் இரண்டாம் நிலை ஆசிரியர்களாக பணி நியமனம் செய்ய தாள் – 2 எழுத அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டனர். டிப்ளமோ ஆசிரியர் பயிற்சி தேர்ச்சி பெற்றவர்கள் TET தாள் – I எழுத தகுதியுடையவர்களாக அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டனர். ஆனால், இப்போது பி.எட் படித்தவர்களும் TET தேர்வு தாள் – I எழுத அனுமதிக்கப்படுவதால், டிப்ளமோ ஆசிரியர் பயிற்சி தேர்ச்சி பெற்றவர்கள் பட்டதாரி ஆசிரியர்களான பி.எட் படித்தவர்களுடன் போட்டியிட வேண்டிய நிலை உருவாகியுள்ளது. இதனால், டிப்ளமோ ஆசிரியர் பயிற்சி தேர்ச்சி பெற்றவர்கள் அளவில் பாதிக்கப்படுவார்கள் என்பதாலும் மேலும் இரண்டும் படித்தவர்களின் (D.T.Ed and UG with B.Ed) ஏதாவது ஒரு படிப்பு தேவையற்றது என்ற நிலை உருவாகிறது.
தமிழக அரசு பி.எட் படித்தவர்களை TET தேர்வில் தாள் – I எழுத அனுமதிக்கக் கூடாது என்று கோரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளனர். ஆனால், பி.எட் பட்டதாரிகள் தாள் I-ல் தேர்ச்சி பெற்றால் அவர்கள் பணி நியமனம் செய்யப்படுவார்கள் என்று அரசாங்க உத்தரவில் குறிப்பிடப்படவில்லை என்று கல்வியியல் துறை வட்டாரங்கள் தெரிவித்தன. பி.எட் பட்டதாரிகள் தாள் I எழுதலாம் என்று டி.ஆர்.பி கூறியுள்ளது.
பி.எட் படித்தவர்கள், தாள் I எழுதினால் வேலை கிடைக்குமா என்று தெரியவில்லை. தாள் I மற்றும் டி.ஆர்.பி-யில் தேர்ச்சி பெற்றால் வேலை கிடைக்க வாய்ப்பு உள்ளது என்று பலரும் தாள் I தேர்வு எழுத உள்ளதாக தெரிவிக்கின்றன.
இதனால், தமிழக அரசு இந்த விஷயத்தில் தெளிவுபடுத்த வேண்டும் என்பதே டெட் தேர்வு எழுத தாயாராகி வரும் மாணவர்களின் கோரிக்கையாக உள்ளது.
