மாணவர் சேர்க்கை குறைந்தாலும், அரசுப் பள்ளிகளை மூடும் எண்ணம் இல்லை என பள்ளிக்கல்வித் துறை அமைச்சர் ராஜ்மோகன் தெரிவித்தார்.

சிவகங்கை மாவட்டம் திருப்புவனம் அருகே கீழடியில் நடைபெறும் 11-ம் கட்ட அகழாய்வு பணியையும், திறந்தவெளி அகழ் வைப்பகத்தையும் பார்வையிட்ட பின்னர் அவர் செய்தியாளர்களிடம் தெரிவித்ததாவது:

கீழடி தமிழர்களுக்கு மட்டுமின்றி உலக நாகரிகத்துக்கும் பெரிய தாய்மடியாகும். பத்திரிகையாளர்கள் நலம் சார்ந்த திட்டங்கள் தனிமனித தலையீடு இன்றி நிறைவேற்றப்படும். பள்ளி மாணவ, மாணவிகளுக்கான சீருடை மாற்றம் குறித்த அறிக்கை முதல்வரிடம் சமர்ப்பிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அதுகுறித்து விரைவில் முடிவெடுக்கப்படும். இவ்வாறு தெரிவித்தார். School Education Minister Rajmohan stated that there is no intention to close government schools even if student enrollment decreases.

Speaking to reporters after inspecting the 11th phase of excavation work and the open-air site museum at Keeladi near Thirupuvanam in Sivagangai district, he said:

The TVK government will not halt any good schemes launched during previous regimes. Flaws in them will be rectified and improved. We do not indulge in vindictive politics. Apart from Keeladi, excavations are also underway in places like Agaram and Konthagai.

Furthermore, talks will be held with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to release the Keeladi excavation results after submitting the required scientific evidence.

District Education Officers have issued warnings to schools that faced complaints for failing to disclose fee details. Private schools must adhere to regulations and collect only the fees fixed by the government.

Even if student enrollment declines, there are no plans to shut down government schools. Enrollment will be increased through door-to-door awareness campaigns. Kamarajar’s rule continues in Tamil Nadu. The breakfast scheme in government schools will be expanded.

Our foreign visit was undertaken only after obtaining legal permission from the Ministry of External Affairs. There was nothing illegal about it. We will embrace everyone who joins the party, he added.

Jain Inscriptions

Meanwhile, the Minister inspected the 3rd-century BC Jain beds and Tamil-Brahmi inscriptions on the Meenakshipuram hill near Mangkulam in Madurai district. He inquired with officials regarding the period, historical significance, and preservation measures of the inscriptions.

Later, the Minister informed reporters:

We are conducting studies across Tamil Nadu to enrich the Tamil language, art, literature, cultural values, and heritage treasures. A report on this will be submitted to the Chief Minister, following which action will be taken to protect and enhance archaeological treasures.

Keeladi is a major cradle not just for Tamils, but for global civilization. Journalist welfare schemes will be implemented without individual political interference. A report on changing school uniforms for students has been submitted to the Chief Minister, and a decision will be taken soon.
