Loans and Advances by the State Government Advance to Government - Servants Advance for Education of the children of the Government - Employees - Increase in the quantum of advance - Orders - Issued

அரசு ஊழியர்களின் குழந்தைகள் உயர்கல்வி பயில்வதற்கான கல்வி முன்பணம் 2023-2024 முதல் உயர்த்தி வழங்கி அரசாணை வெளியீடு!!

ORDER:

In the Government Order first read above, the Government introduced a special scheme of interest free advance called "Education Advance" to the Government Employees to enable them to meet the educational expenses of their children studying in Colleges/Polytechnics limiting the advance to one month's basic pay or the amount of advance whichever is less.

2. In the Government Order second read above, the quantum of Education Advance was enhanced from Rs.1,000/- to Rs.1,500/- in the case of employees whose children are studying in Colleges and from Rs.500/- to Rs.750/- in the case of employees whose children are studying in Polytechnics.

3. In the Government Order third read above, the quantum Education Advance was last revised/enhanced as follows 4. In the Government Order fourth read above, orders were issued for continuing the scheme for three years from 01.06.2018.

5. The Education Advance is being provided interest free to be recovered in 10 monthly installments from the salary of the month succeeding the drawal of advance. The last revision was made during the year 1993 vide orders issued in reference third read above.

6. Enhancement of this advance is felt necessary, as the present quantum of the advance is not revised for thirty years in line with increase in the cost of higher education. 7. The Government after careful consideration has decided to enhance the quantum of "Education Advance" to Government Employees to meet the educational expenses of their children studying in Colleges/Polytechnics and to extend the scheme as indicated below:-

I. For Group C and Group D Employees, amount equal to one month basic pay or the limits suggested below, whichever is higher shall be allowed.

II. For Group A and Group B Employees, 50% of one month basic pay or the limits suggested below, whichever is higher shall be allowed.
