The attention of the Treasury Officers / Assistant Treasury Officers
drawn to the reference cited, wherein Treasury Officer / Assistant Treasury Officer) Pension Pay Officers Chennai were advised not to insist upon the pensioners to open the single account Further, Joint accounts operated by the pensioners with his/her spouse in whose favour an authorization for Family Pension already exists in the Pension Payment Order (PPO) shall be accepted by the Pension Payment Officer/ Treasury Officers/Assistant Treasury Officers without fail. A copy of the reference is enclosed for ready reference
It has been noticed that as per the above instruction some of the pensioners are drawing their monthly pension through Joint account Due to implementation of IFHRMS and to avoid difficulty in validation of bank accounts ( payment of two pension in same account) and other administrative reasons the above instructions issued in this office reference cited is hereby cancelled
Therefore, all Treasury officers/ Assistant Treasury Officers/Pension Pay Officers, Chennai are instructed to insist the Pensioners to open a single account in the respect of pensioners having joint account to draw the monthly service pension both for self and for his spouse (ie, self and his spouse drawing pension in the same account) Further this instructions is not applicable for double pensioner having single account. In this regard all Treasury Officers are instructed to send a weekly progress report to the commissionerate in the below format
