ORDER:

The District Election Officer and Collector of Namakkal District, in her letter third and fifth read above has stated that Thiru M. Jayabalan, worked as PG Assistant, at Vennandur Boys Higher Secondary School, Rasipuram, Namakkal District. He was appointed as Presiding Officer for 93.Senthamangalam (ST) Assembly Constituency.

The Collector of Namakkal District, has also stated that Thiru M. Jayabalan had appeared for his first Polling Personnel training class on 24.03.2024. On 07.04.2024, Polling Personnel second training class was held at Vethaloga Vidyalaya Matric Higher Secondary School at Senthamangalam Taluk, Namakkal District. After attending the second Polling personnel training class, and while returning in his two wheeler he met with a road accident and died on the spot.

2. The District Election Officer and Collector of Namakkal District has furnished relevant documents and has recommended for sanction of ex-gratia compensation to the legal heirs of Thiru M. Jayabalan, PG Assistant, Vennandur Boys Higher Secondary School, Rasipuram, Namakkal District.

3. In the Government Order first read above, orders have been issued for sanctioning of ex-gratia compensation of Rs. 15,00,000/- to the legal heirs of polling personnel who die while on election duty during elections. 4. In the Government Order second read above, orders have been issued sanctioning of Rs.4,00,00,000/- towards the expenditure for the payment of ex-gratia compensation to the family of polling personnel who die or sustain injuries while on election duty during the General Elections to Lok Sabha, 2024.

5. The Government, after careful consideration, has decided to accept the proposal of the District Election Officer and District Collector, Namakkal District and accordingly sanction a sum of Rs.15,00,000/- (Rupees fifteen lakhs only) as ex-gratia compensation to the legal heirs of Thiru M. Jayabalan, PG Assistant, Vennandur Boys Higher Secondary School, Rasipuram, Namakkal District deployed as Presiding Officer by way of re-allocation of funds from Public (Election-Bills) Department to the District Election Officer and District Collector, Namakkal District.

6. The expenditure sanctioned in para 5 above shall be debited to the following head of account:-
