2023-24 - Samagra Shiksha - Hi-Tech Lab Successful implementation of Learning Management System in Government High and Higher Secondary Schools - Intimation - Reg.

Ref: Letter from Secretary to Government, School Education Department, Letter No. efile.4986/SSA1/2023-1, Dated: 09.11.2023 With reference to the letter cited above, it is informed that Hi Tech Labs have been established in High and Higher Secondary Schools across the state of Tamil Nadu. As an average ten to twenty desktops in thin client mode have been supplied and installed. Connectivity is also provided by the System Integrator in coordination with TSPS/ISPs. Similarly, Projectors were also supplied and installed. At present, the lab is mainly used for assessments and evaluation purposes only. The primary reason for the poor utility of the facility is low bandwidth connectivity that has been designed and provided.

Now a days, Learning Management System (LMS) is being pursued by many schools quite aggressively. Successful LMS has three important components namely, Content, Connectivity and Hardware like systems and projectors. Learning contents are being developed by SCERT. Connectivity is being provided by the System Integrator. Systems and Projectors were supplied already.

It is also informed to get a 100 mbps Broadband connection with Static IP immediately through the respective SMCs with the maximum monthly outgo of Rs.1,500 which is inclusive of GST and not to make/recommend payment to the System Integrator for the internet connections once the broadband connection is fully commissioned by the SMCs.

In this regard, the CEOs of all districts are informed to get a 100 mbps Broadband connection with Static IP immediately in all High and Higher Secondary schools through the respective SMCs with the maximum monthly outgo of Rs.1,500 which is inclusive of GST and not to make/recommend payment to the System Integrator for the internet connections once the broadband connection is fully commissioned by the SMCs. For this purpose, the fund will be released to SMCs under ICT Recurring cost (Secondary Education) for the year 2023-24.

The installation cost, if any, has to be met with School Grant.
