மாணாக்கர்களின் அறிவை வடிவமைப்பதிலும், அறிவியல் கற்றல் மீதான ஆர்வத்தை வளர்ப்பதிலும், உயர் கல்வியில் மாணாக்கர்கள் அறிவியல் துறையினை எடுப்பதற்கும் மற்றும் அறிவியலாளர்களாக உருவாக்குவதற்கும் அறிவியல் ஆசிரியர்கள் முக்கிய பங்கு வகிக்கின்றனர்.

தமிழ் நாட்டில் உள்ள உயர்நிலைப் பள்ளி மற்றும் மேல்நிலைப் பள்ளி அளவில் அரசு/அரசு உதவி பெறும் பள்ளிகளில் பணிபுரியும் அறிவியல் ஆசிரியர்களிடம் இருந்து விண்ணப்பங்கள் வரவேற்கப்படுகின்றன.
அறிவியல் நகரத்தால் பத்து ஆசிரியர்கள் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டு, ரொக்கப்பரிசு காசோலையாகவும் மற்றும் சான்றிதழ்களும் வழங்கப்படும்.
இதில் ஐந்து ஆசிரியர்கள் தமிழ்வழிப் பள்ளிகளில்இருந்தும் மற்றும் ஐந்து ஆசிரியர்கள் திறந்தநிலைப் பிரிவிலும் (தமிழ் மற்றும்ஆங்கிலம்) தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்படுவர்.விண்ணப்பப்படிவம் மற்றும் வழிகாட்டுதல்களை www.sciencecitychennai.in என்ற அறிவியல் நகர இணையதளத்தில் பதிவிறக்கம் செய்து கொள்ளலாம்.
பூர்த்தி செய்யப்பட்ட விண்ணப்பம் முறையான வழியாக அனுப்பப்பட வேண்டும். அதாவது சம்பந்தப்பட்ட தலைமையாசிரியர் மற்றும் அந்தந்த மாவட்ட முதன்மைக் கல்விஅலுவலரால் பரிந்துரைக்கப்பட்டு அறிவியல் நகர அலுவலகத்திற்கு 14.09.2023 அல்லது அதற்கு முன் மாலை 5.30 மணிக்குள் வந்து சேர வேண்டும்

Science teachers play a vital role in shaping the minds of students and fostering a love for science and learning. Recognizing the invaluable services provided by science teachers in shaping the careers of students studying science, the Government, as referenced, instituted the Best Science Teacher Award through the Science City in 2018.
Applications are invited from Science teachers working in Government/Government Aided Schools at High School and Higher Secondary School level in Tamil Nadu.
Ten teachers will be selected and duly honored by the Science City with a cash award and a citation- five teachers from the Tamil Medium Schools and five from open category (including Tamil and English medium). Applications are invited from the following five disciplines for the year 2022-2023.
1. Mathematics
2. Physics
3. Chemistry
4. Biology and
5. Computer Science/Geography/Agricultural Practices
The application form and guidelines can be downloaded from the Science City website www.sciencecitychennai.in.
The filled application should be sent through proper channel, i.e. duly forwarded by the concerned School Headmaster and Chief Educational Officer of the respective district and its should reach Office of the Science City on or before 14.09.2023 by 5.30p.m.
