In the Proceedings first cited the guidelines were issued to Principals / Regional Joint Directors are requested to scrutinize the CAS proposals as per norms stipulated in the G.Os and guidelines referred.
It was instructed that for award of CAS to pay level 12 to 13A the teacher should have completed 1 Orientation course and 3 Refresher courses for those with entry level Ph.D., and for the others 1 Orientation course and 4 Refresher coursch out of which Refresher course should have been completed within the last 3 years (Associate Professor Assessment Period).
As per UGC norms 2018 adopted vide GO. (Ms). No. 5. Dated. 11.01.2021 and Proceedings of Director of Collegiate Education dated.
28.07.2021 it has been ordered that the requirement for Orientation Course and Refresher Course for Promotions due under the CAS shall not be mandatory upto 31.12.2018
In their letter 2 and 3 cited Teachers' Associations have requested to issue clarifications based on UGC norms 2018 and G.O.(Ms.No.05 Dated
11.01.2021 and proceedings of Director of Collegiate Education dated 28.07.2021 as stipulated above.
The Director of Collegiate Education has carefully examined the request of the Associations and individuals in this regard. Accordingly, it is clarified that with regard to Sl.No.2 of the Proceedings 1" cited as per UGC Regulations 2018 and as per G.0.4 cited, for award of CAS to pay level 12 to 13A 1 refresher course should have been completed within the last 3 years (Associate Professor Assessment Period). Other conditions stipulated therein remains unchanged.
Proposals for CAS for pay level 12 to 13A to be sent after signing of Proceeding of Director of Collegiate Education (FAC), Dated: 01.12.2022. The Selection/Scrutiny committee should consist of 4 different officials and subject experts in the cadre of Senior Associate Professor of concerned subject.
I request the Regional Joint Directors of Collegiate Education / Principals to acknowledge the receipt of this letter.
