NMMS VERIFICATION Extentended for INO/DNO

On-line registration of fresh/Renewal Applications on National Scholarship Portal for AY 2022-23-regarding
Respected Sir/Madam,
Reference is invited to this Ministry's letters of even number dated 08.12.2022, 22.07.2022 and 08-08-2022, 17.10.2022, 25.10.2022, 26.10.2022, 01.11.2022 and 17.11.2022(copies enclosed) regarding on-line submission/registration of applications on National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for scholarships of project year 2022-23 i.e. fresh as well as renewal cases in respect of the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education.
Fresh and Renewal Application Status as on 22.12.2022 is at Annexure-I & II (copy enclosed). The Scheme is closed for registration for fresh as well as renewal cases.
2. In order to facilitate timely verification, the Institute Nodal Officer (INOS) and District Nodal officer (DNOS) may be instructed to carry out verification of all applications received on daily basis. The last date of first level (INO) verification is extended upto 31.12.2022 and second level (DNO) verification is 10.01.2023.
3. It may be ensured that wide publicity may be given to the schools concerned where the new and existing scholarship holders are studying, so that all beneficiaries of NMMSS register as fresh/renewal applicants, as per eligibility, on National Scholarship Portal (NSP). It is requested that necessary instructions may be issued to the concerned official's i.e. DNO/INO to strictly follow the prescribed timelines. If any applications are pending at INO/ DNO level after the last date of verification on NSP under NMMSS 2022-23, the State Government will be responsible for non payment of NMMS scholarship for such cases.
