The Government of Tamil Nadu has invited online applications for various Ph.D. scholarship and incentive schemes for the 2025–2026 academic year through the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department.

Available Schemes for 2025–2026

Full-Time Ph.D. Scholars Incentive Scheme: Provides financial assistance to eligible full-time Ph.D. scholars.

Incentive Amount: Approximately ₹50,000 per annum for full-time research scholars to assist with field work and thesis preparation.

National Fellowship for Higher Education of ST Students: For ST candidates pursuing Ph.D. programs, applications are open with deadlines typically extending through late 2025/early 2026.

Chief Minister’s Fellowship Programme (TNCMFP): A separate high-level program with its own selection cycle and portal.

Eligibility & Requirements

Target Group: Primarily focused on SC, ST, and converted Christian scholars for specific department-led incentives.

Income Limit: For state incentive schemes, the annual family income usually must not exceed ₹2,00,000.

Academic Status: Must be a full-time Ph.D. scholar in a recognized university or research institution within Tamil Nadu. How to Apply
