ORDER:

The Election Commission of India has notified 10.07.2024 (Wednesday) as the poll day for the Bye-Election to Tamil Nadu. Legislative Assembly from 75.Vikravandi Assembly Constituency, Villupuram District. Hence, the poll day 10.07.2024 (Wednesday) has to be declared as public holiday under section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (Central Act XXVI of 1881). 2. The following following Notification shall be published in an Extraordinary issue of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette dated 27.06.2024. Notification

Under the "Explanation" to Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (Central Act, XXVI of 1881) read with the Notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs No. 20-25-26, Public-1, dated the 8th June 1957, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby declares Wednesday, the 10th July 2024, the date on which the poll for the Bye- Election to Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 75.Vikravandi Assembly Constituency, Villupuram District will take place, to be a Public Holiday.. The Public Holiday will be for the areas comprised in the above said Assembly Constituency lying in Villupuram District.

2. Further, all employees working in Villupuram District and neighbouring districts but registered as voters in 75.Vikravandi Assembly Constituency, shall also be given a paid holiday on 10.07.2024.

3. All Government offices including industrial establishments of the Government and Government controlled bodies and all the educational institutions throughout the areas comprised in 75.Vikravandi Assembly Constituency lying in Villupuram District will remain closed on 10.07.2024.
