Transport - State Transport Undertakings - Permission for filling up of the post of Driver and Driver-cum-Conductor - Orders - Issued.
ORDER:
During the Demand held on 08.09.2021, the Hon'ble Minister for Transport has made the following announcement:-
"Action will be taken to fill up the vacancies in the State Transport Undertakings."
2. In the references 3rd & 4th read above, the Managing Directors of all State Transport Undertakings were requested to take necessary action to fill up the vacancies by direct recruitment in State Transport Undertakings duly taking into account the norms prescribed in number statement in G.O. (Ms) No.321, 322, 323, 324, 325, 326, 327 & 328, Transport (C1) Department, dated 31.10.2018.
3. The Chairman's Office, Transport Department has furnished the sanctioned strength of Drivers and existing vacancies in Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Kumbakonam) Limited, Kumbakonam and Driver-cum-Conductors in State Express Transport Corporation Tamil Nadu Limited, Chennai as per the Number Statement and related Government Orders as indicated below:- 4. In a meeting held by Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Finance with Principal Secretary to Government, Transport and Senior Officers of Finance / Transport Department, it was decided to fill up the vacancies as follows:-
i. In TNSTC (KUM) Ltd., 60% (122 Drivers) of total numbers of driver vacancies (203) may be filled up;
ii.In State Express Transport Corporation Tamil Nadu Limited, Chennai 685 Driver-cum-Conductor vacancies may be filled up out of 800 vacancies approved by the Board.
5. In Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary No.83, dated 31.01.2022, the TNPSC (Additional Functions) Act No.14 of 2022 was published which read as follows:-
3. Notwithstanding anything contained in any State law for the time being in force, any organization may request the Commission, in such form as may be prescribed, to recruit candidates for appointment to posts in that organization:
Provided that no such request shall be made in respect of the post of Driver and the posts classified as Group D in the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016. 6. The essential qualification required for the post of Driver and Driver-cum- Conductor as per Common Service Rules (CSR) are as follows:-
