G.O.(Ms.) No.528, Dated the 31st August 2023 -

Public Holidays - Holiday for Vinayakar Chathurthi on 18.09.2023 (Monday) - Change in the date of observance of the festival - Revised Orders issued.

ORDER:

In the G.O. first read above, the Government notified the 17th of September 2023 as a Public Holiday for Vinayakar Chathurthi under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.

2. In the letter second read above, the Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments has stated that as per the reports of the various temple heads, "Vinayakar Chathurthi" will be celebrated on 18.09.2023 (Monday) instead of 17.09.2023 (Sunday).

3. The Government, after careful consideration of the matter has decided to change the Public Holiday from 17.09.2023 (Sunday) to 18.09.2023 (Monday) on the occasion "Vinayakar Chathurthi" under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. Accordingly, the following Notification will be published in an extra-ordinary Gazette dated 01.09.2023. NOTIFICATION

Under the "Explanation" to section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (Central Act XXVI of 1881) read with Notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, No.20-25-26, Public-1, dated the 8th June 1957, the Government of Tamil Nadu hereby declares that, 18th September 2023 shall be a Public Holiday on the account of "Vinayakar Chathurthi" instead of the 17th September 2023

4. The above notified Public Holiday shall also apply to all State Government Undertakings / Corporations / Boards, etc.
