Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission is conducting various recruitment examinations to fill up the vacancies of various departments every year. In this connection, the recruitment examination for the posts included in the Combined Subordinate Services Examination – IV (Group IV) was conducted on 24.07.2022. Totally 22,02,942 applications were received in response to this notification and 18,36,535 candidates appeared for the examination. This is one of the highest number of candidates appeared for any examination conducted by State Public Service Commissions in India. In order to maintain strict confidentiality and to plug the loopholes the, Commission has introduced integrated - two part OMR answer sheets for its examinations and both the parts are subject to double scanning separately and the Error list has to be generated after system based identification along with manual confirmation on the errors committed by the candidates thus it requires additional time for the whole process. As per the Instructions to candidates, there are 16 different errors that may be committed by the candidates, these errors are to be identified and verified by the Commission From 2014 to 2019 period the candidates as appeared for Group IV examinations ranged between 10 and 17.5 lakhs whereas in 2022 this number exceeded more than 18 lakh candidates, and this time two parts of answer sheets are to be scanned and error checked. The total number of OMR answer sheets to be checked exceeded 36 lakhs which is approximately thrice the amount of work if compared with previous years examination.
It is hereby informed that, Commission is regularly conducting various examinations including departmental examinations and processing various results simultaneously. Thus Commission is working tirelessly in the interest of candidates, to complete all the important aspects of the process as mentioned above, and deliver error free result. The results of this examination are likely to be published in the month of March. Hence, Candidates are requested not to be worried about the baseless news aired / published in this regard
