Pension Issue of duplicate Pension Payment Order Levy of fee - Dispensed with-Existing Procedure - Modified - Orders issued Read:

G.O. (Ms) No. 750, Finance (Pension) Department, dated: 24.12.1996 ORDER:

The levy of fee of Rs.5/- under Subsidiary Rule 85 under Treasury Rule 16 of Tamil Nadu Treasury Code Volume I, from the pensioner for issue of duplicate copy of pensioner's / family pensioner's half of the Pension Payment Order, if it is lost, worn or torn, ordered in the Government Order read above, is dispensed with, with immediate effect. The following procedure shall be followed for issuance of such duplicate Pension Payment Order.

i) As and when request is received from the pensioner for issuance of duplicate Pension Payment Order in place of lost, worn or torn one,

duplicate Pension Payment Order may be issued to the pensioner after obtaining an Undertaking (annexed to this order) from the pensioner. ii) Pensioners / family pensioners need not be insisted to obtain "Non traceable/detectable' certificate from Police Station.

iii) Such duplicate Pension Payment Order shall be issued from the concerned District Treasury / Sub-Treasury / Pension Pay Office itself, from where the pensioner is drawing pension without reference to the Accountant General.

iv) A note of the issue of duplicate Pension Payment Order shall be made in the remarks column of the register of Pension Payment Orders.

v) In case of pensioners drawing pension in Public Sector Banks and whose Pension Payment Order is lost, the existing procedure of forwarding the request for duplicate Pension Payment Order to the concerned Treasury Officer by the Pension Paying Bank for such issue of duplicate Pension Payment Order shall continue.

- 2. These orders shall take effect from the date of issue of this order.

3. Necessary amendment to Tamil Nadu Treasury Code Vol.I. will be issued by Finance (T&A III) Department separately.
