3. From the Director, Department of Environment and Climate Change, Letter No.477/2023/DoE&CC/TNCCM/2023, Dated: 02.08.2024. ORDER:

The Hon'ble Minister for Environment and Climate Change has announced the extension of Green School Programme on the floor of the Assembly during the year 2023-2024 at a cost of Rs.10.00 crore (Rs.20.00 lakh per school) for 50 schools. Consequently the Hon'ble Minister for Environment and Climate Change has announced the extension of the Green School Programme on the floor of the Assembly during the year 2024-2025 at a cost of Rs.20.00 crore (Rs.20 lakh per school) for 100 schools.

2. In the Government Order 2nd read above, the Government permitted the Director, Department of Environment and Climate Change for transferring the fund of Rs.9.20 crore for 46 Schools at Rs.20.00 lakh per School to the Commissioner of School Education to implement the "Green School Programme" from the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board's Fund.

3. In the letter 3rd read above, the Director of Environment and Climate Change has sent a list of 26 schools as IInd phase to implement the Green School Programme for the year 2023-2024.

4. The Government after careful consideration accept the request and permit the Director, Department of Environment and Climate Change for transferring the fund of Rs.5.20 crore for 26 Schools as Rs.20.00 lakh per School, as listed in the Annexure to this order. The Commissioner of School Education will implement the "Green School Programme". The above expenditure shall be met from Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board's Fund and should be incurred as detailed in the Government Order first read above along with the Green Protocol mentioned thereon.
