Technical Education - Tamil Nadu Admission in Engineering Institutions Rules 2007 - Determination of Inter-se-merit for the academic year 2023-24-Orders - Issued.

ORDER:

The Government issued Orders in the Government Order second read above, for fixing the Inter-se-merit, in cases where more than one student have got the same marks in the common merit list, as specified below: www.kalviseithiofficial.com

L Percentage of marks in Mathematics.

II. Percentage of marks in Physics.

III. Percentage of marks in the optional subject. IV. Percentage of total marks in the qualifying examination.

V. Percentage of total marks in X standard examination.

VI. Date of birth

VII. Random number assigned. 2. The Director of Technical Education in her letter dated third read above has stated that during the academic years 2021-22 due to the Covid-19 pandemic in Tamil Nadu, the School Education Department cancelled the class 10th Board Exams and promoted the students to the 11th standard. The 10th mark sheet for the above years does not have specific marks but only has the pass declaration details.

Therefore, it is not possible to determine the inter-se-merit with "percentage of total marks in X standard examination" as mentioned in point No.(v) of Government Order referred above during Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions from this academic year 2023 - 24 onwards. Hence, for the welfare of the students she has requested to remove the "point No. (v) Percentage of total marks in X standard examination and issue necessary amendment orders to the Government order second read above for determination of inter-se-merit as given below:

"Determination of Inter-se-merit:: In cases where more than one student have got the same marks in the common merit list, the inter-se-merit among such students shall be determined in the order of priority as specified below:-

1. Percentage of marks in Mathematics.

1. Percentage of marks in Physics. II. Percentage of marks in the optional subject.

IV. Percentage of total marks in the qualifying examination.

V. Date of birth

VI. Random number assigned." The Government after careful examination have decided to accept the request of the Director of Technical Education in para 2 above and accordingly direct that, for the academic year 2023-24, the determination of inter-se-merit in Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission shall be done by the rule as specified below:

"Determination of Inter-se-merit:- In cases where more than one student have got the same marks in the common merit list, the inter-se-merit among such students shall be determined in the order of priority as specified below:-

1. Percentage of marks in Mathematics.

ii. Percentage of marks in Physics.

iii. Percentage of marks in the optional subject.

iv. Percentage of total marks in the qualifying examination.

V. Date of birth vi. Random number assigned."
